Most cases are mild and short. However, if a bout lasts more than a few days or is accompanied by severe pain, high fever, bloody stool of symptoms of dehydration (dizziness, dry mouth, dark urine) contact your doctor. Treatment may include drinking plenty of clear liquids and eating a diet of bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. |
